Sv: Uppdattering från domarseminariet/Nyheter i FIPO
Såhär står det i brevet från "FEIF Annual Sports Meeting 2008", som kom ut i dag, om passlöp.
Saxat:
5.4. FIPO: Finals in Pace Race: The Sport Committee has explored the possibility to
make the outcome of pace race at competitions more exciting (and in accordance to
our oval track classes) by introducing finals in Pace Race 250 m and 150 m. The
proposal is to limit the number of heats to two for all riders and to invite the best
three on tracks where 3 or more horses compete at the same time and the best 4 on
tracks where 2 horses compete at the same time to decide upon the place 1, 2 3
(and 4). When 2 horses compete at the same time, the two highest ranked in the
preliminaries decide upon position 1 and 2, the two others upon 3 and 4. When 3
horses compete they decide upon the positions 1, 2 and 3. In all cases there will be
two runs, and the fastest horse gets 2 (3) points, the second placed 1 (2) and if there
is a third placed this horse gets 1 point, provided the horses have valid times.
Otherwise the horse gets no points. After two runs the horse with the highest score
wins. In case of a tiebreak the fastest times in the finals are decisive.

From the discussion: Gerda says the Netherlands are interested as long as it is not
compulsory, since it may not be possible to do this at smaller competitions, it is
agreed that it will not be compulsory. Marko explains that it is already possible to use
this format, since the organiser of an event could choose to have 2 heats and can
then organise a final as proposed here already. In fact Marko says it would be good
if countries would experiment with it. In case an organiser does use a final, both now
and once this is part of the FIPO, the times for the final will not go in to the
WorldRanking. A world record would of course be valid.
